The New Subaru Outback

It is an original - just like Subaru. The Outback offers a unique blend of legendary versatility, superb capability and efficiency. It is the first thing consumers in the Metroplex think of when they think Subaru. What makes the Subaru Outback the preferred wagon in North Texas?
Design
Outback is designed as a wagon, offering maximum capacity and capability. A rugged machine that offers both style and practicality, Outback offers advantages over larger SUVs. Its 8.7-inch ground clearance provides better clearance of uneven surfaces. The Outback's 66.1-inch overall height (with crossbars installed) makes it easier for items to be removed from the roof rack system - such as bicycles, kayaks, and oversized camping equipment.
The newest edition to the Outback lineup is the Wilderness model. As the most capable Subaru ever produced, it adds 0.8 inches to the ground clearance and offers the best angles of approach and departure in its class.
Performance
The Outback comes with a choice of two horizontally opposed Subaru BOXER® engines. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque provides ample power for anything it is asked to do while returning good fuel economy - up to 33 MPG highway.
XT models have the 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque for massive power when it needs it. It is also efficient, earning an EPA rating of 30 MPG on the highway. Both engines are connected to a Lineartronic CVT transmission.
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive
Only Subaru offers standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for superb traction all year round. The design of the system is rooted in its horizontally-opposed engines, which provide a lower center of gravity for optimal operation of the system. Within the system, there is standard Active Torque Split, which distributes power between the two axles depending on actual throttle response. Active Torque Vectoring is an enhancement on the standard Vehicle Dynamics Control stability and traction control system, allowing more neutral cornering, even off road. Combined with standard X-Mode, Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist, the system works to enable more control and performance on inclines and slippery road surfaces. This all-wheel drive system is made for year-round capabilities in heavy rain, mud and wherever the road ends.
The Wilderness model adds a more advanced X-Mode system with a low range designed to handle more challenging terrain conditions.
Cabin Design
Outback drivers will love how well laid out the cabin is. It seats five, plus 32.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Fold down the rear seats, and there is 75.7 cubic feet of total cargo space available to bring everything you need for a weekend further up the range. Drivers have great access to a clean instrument cluster, superb controls all around and great vision all around.
Technology
STARLINK is how a Subaru driver communicates, stays informed, and entertains. It is a hub of connected services, now including smartphone connections, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, STARLINK offers enhanced service offered by SiriusXM, including real-time Traffic reporting. Certain trim levels will include STARLINK Safety Plus and Security Plus packages that reports accident information and stolen vehicle tracking. Depending on trim, the touch screen measures to 8.0 or 11.6 inches.
Safety
Subarus are built safe and secure. The Outback is no exception. It all starts with EyeSight, the most advanced driver assistance technology in the automotive industry. It uses stereo cameras to sense the road ahead enabling such features as Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Vehicle Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist. It is one of the highest rated active safety systems according to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. Other active safety features available on the Outback include Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, as well as Reverse Automatic Braking and High Beam Assist, when equipped with EyeSight.
