Subaru of Plano is proud to announce that Subaru’s 2023 Subaru Share the Love® Event surpassed its goal, reaching a total of $288 million in cumulative donations over the past sixteen years of the event. Last year, the initiative raised $31.6 million overall for charities nationwide.

Just as Subaru is more than a car company, in 2023, all Subaru retailers in the U.S. participated in the annual Share the Love Event, each showing that they are “More Than a Car Dealer.” Every customer who purchased or leased a vehicle during the campaign could choose one of four national charity partners or one of more local hometown charities of the retailer’s choice to receive donations. Of the $31.6 million in total contributions, three-quarters went to over 830 charities in the hometowns of Subaru retailers and close to Subaru owners’ hearts. These contributions have the power to make a real difference in our local communities.

“Here at Subaru, our commitment to community is all about showing love and support in ways that make a meaningful difference.” says Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc.: “This year, Subaru retailers and customers demonstrated their dedication by donating a record amount to local and national organizations. Subaru is truly More Than a Car Company, and we’re incredibly grateful to our retailers and customers who share our values and helped make the 2023 Share the Love Event a tremendous success.”

Dating back to 2008, Subaru of America and dealers like Subaru of Plano have held the Share the Love Event at the end of the year through the holiday season to give back to charities in the communities Subaru retailers know and love. Specifically, from November 16, 2023, through January 2, 2024, any new vehicle purchased or leased from any Subaru dealer prompts a minimum of $300 to one or more customer-chosen charities.

The national charities with whom Subaru has a longstanding relationship with include:

  • The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®)
  • Make-A-Wish®
  • Meals on Wheels America
  • The National Park Foundation

Collectively, they received over $7 million in donations. Subaru and Subaru dealers have selected 832 hometown charities within their local communities, and overall, these organizations received a record $24 million in contributions. In addition to the monetary contributions over the past 20 years, Subaru and Subaru Dealer employees have logged nearly 88,000 volunteer hours. As an environmental measure, all Subaru products are manufactured in zero-landfill plants. Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc., which assembles the Ascent, Crosstrek, Legacy, and Outback models, is the only U.S. automobile manufacturing plant designated as a backyard wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. These are just a few additional things to think about when you visit Subaru of Plano to shop for your next car.
