The Award Winning And Secure SUV, The 2025 Subaru Forester, Passing By Golden Grass

Subaru has a long-running advertising campaign that communicates the safety of its vehicles. The ads often show relieved survivors after a bad-looking accident in their Subaru. The model shown in those ads has usually been an Outback, but that doesn’t mean the Forester is any less safe. This was demonstrated by the fact that the new 2025 Forester has earned the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK + award, which is their highest honor. Ewing Subaru of Plano gives you the details.

Perhaps this is no surprise.  After all, the Forester has earned an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award 18 times since 2007, a feat matched by no other small SUV.  You might think that if it has done well for so many years in a row, adding another one for 2025 is no big deal. However, IIHS instituted new requirements in their side impact protection, pedestrian crash prevention, and moderate front overlap tests for the 2024 calendar year, making it more challenging to achieve a “Good” rating, which is their highest. So, a vehicle that obtained a “Good” the previous year might not receive it again for its 2025 model. Still, the recently redesigned Forester came through.

“The new 2025 Subaru Forester continues our long-running commitment to delivering vehicles designed to the highest safety standards. The Forester’s exceptional performance in safety evaluations is part of its history and what our customers expect from Subaru. Being recognized by the IIHS with its top rating is an honor.” – Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc.

Receiving A Good Score For The IIHS Test, The Safest SUV, The Subaru Forester

To qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, vehicles must earn “Good” ratings for small overlap front and updated side tests, an “Acceptable” or “Good” rating in the pedestrian front crash prevention evaluation, and acceptable- or good-rated headlights across all trim levels. In addition, an “Acceptable” or “Good” rating is required for the updated moderate front crash test.  The 2025 Forester earned a “Good” in the Front Small Overlap test and updated Side impact test and an “Acceptable in the updated Front Moderate Overlap test.  It also received Good” ratings for its headlight performance and Pedestrian Front Crash Prevention system. Additionally, it received “Good” ratings for its seatbelt reminder systems and the ease of use of its LATCH child seat anchors.

These ratings apply to all Forester models except the Wilderness model, which has been modified enough to be tested separately.

As of this writing, Ewing Subaru of Plano has over one hundred 2025 Foresters in stock, so after you test drive a new Forester, you can be sure there is one that matches your desires.
