Taking a Road Trip to Subiefest California in a 2025 Subaru Forester
There is nothing like a good road trip, one that serves up memories over every mile. With every road trip, there is always a destination. In the case of the journalist from Car and Driver, it was Subiefest California. For her road trip to this festival of Subaru enthusiasm, she drove a 2025 Subaru Forester Sport.
A Subiefest is a celebration of all things Subaru. It brings out the enthusiast community to show off their love for their chosen automobile brand. You get to see modified WRX STIs, BRZs, Outbacks, Crosstreks, Foresters, and Legacys. You name it, it will be there. You might even see an old 360 or one of those first 4WD wagons from the 1970s.
Celebrating its 20th year, Subiefest California was held at Santa Anita Raceway, a horse racing venue in the Los Angeles suburb of Arcadia. However, the Car and Driver journalist took the long way to Subiefest by picking up the Sapphire Blue Pearl 2025 Forester Sport in Los Angeles, picking up her siblings in Northern California, and heading along the coast back towards Los Angeles.
Along the way, they took in a town on the Pacific Ocean and ran into a huge antiquing weekend. The Forester had the space to bring home a trove of fine items, along with luggage for three people. They came away impressed with the drivability of the Forester in town and on the highway.
After heading south to Subiefest California, they were entertained by some of the coolest Subarus around. They loved the mix of Subarus at the event—including Bajas and BRATs. It was a fitting end to a nice road trip up and down the state of California.
Subiefests have been popping up all over the country. We just had one here in Dallas on October 19 at Lone Star Park. If you attended, we hope you enjoyed how we Texans love our Subarus. That, along with meeting your Subaru heroes.
We also know how much you love the 2025 Forester. It is a great road trip companion with its spacious and comfortable interior with StarTex water-repellent seating for up to five people. You also have 27.5 cubic feet of space for luggage, gear, and souvenirs before expanding that space to 69.1 cubic feet. The rear seats do fold down in a 60/40 split on the 2025 Forester Sport, so your third passenger can still join you on the rest of the trip.
Road trips can be fun. The 2025 Forester Sport’s hub for infotainment is the Starlink 11.6-inch touchscreen that can store your favorite SiriusXM channels and thumb through your smartphone’s music collection. There is wireless integration for your Apple and Android devices. You can opt for the Harmon Kardon premium sound system 11-speaker upgrade to make your road trip more like a music fest.
No discussion of road trips is complete without a “safety briefing.” The 2025 Forester Sport is equipped with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. It combines several features together to ensure that your road trip is a very safe one.
