​​The 2026 Subaru Forester Earns the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Award​

In fact, this is the 10th time the Forester earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation from the IIHS.

The 2025 crash tests conducted by IIHS are set for vehicles to achieve an acceptable rating in the organization’s updated moderate overlap front crash tests to achieve the TOP SAFETY PICK designation. However, a good rating for the same test gives it the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. That was exactly how the 2026 Forester rated in that specific test, as well as all other crash tests the IIHS put it through. Using crash dummies, they tested for side impact, as well as front and offset crashes. The result was the same – good ratings all around for the 2026 Forester.

Another major win for the 2026 Forester is the standard Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. In its latest generation, it incorporates several features to ensure the vehicle is protected from impacts around it. The features include Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Steering Responsive Headlights, and High Beam Assist.
