​​The 2026 Subaru WRX Can Bring The Excitement On Any Surface​ 

With a pedigree that included rally championships here and around the world, you expect the Subaru WRX is to be the warrior anywhere you plant it. The beauty of the 2026 WRX is that it can win your heart and your soul anywhere you drive it – not just on muddy switchbacks or snowy mountain roads, but in everyday wet conditions, and even on the track. 

Keeping the 2026 WRX engaged is its rally-developed chassis. That includes a focused suspension system, four-wheel ventilated brakes, and a quick-ratio electric power-assisted dual ratio rack-and-pinion steering system. Upgrading to the tS and the limited-edition Series.Yellow models add adjustable dampers and Brembo brakes enhanced by the experts at Subaru Technica International. 

Believe it or not, the WRX’s highly-tuned turbocharged BOXER engine also plays a part in that well-tuned chassis, as its unique physical footprint helps keep weight balanced while providing a power-to-weight ratio that’s second-to-none. The WRX’s Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system provides tremendous grip and, thanks to both Active Torque Vectoring and Vehicle Dynamics Control, actually works to improve cornering. 

Drivers can enjoy either the direct engagement of a six-speed manual transmission or the eight-speed Subaru Performance Transmission, which is available on the Limited trim and standard on the GT.  

Every 2026 WRX has its signature grille, hood scoop, front and rear underspoilers, diffuser for the rear bumper, a rear spoiler and a quad set of exhaust tips. Each WRX model wears a set of summer performance tires, which are installed on either a set of 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on trim level. 

The WRX cockpit is driver-focused and chock full of the latest technology and tactile controls.  Some 2026 WRX trim levels have analog instrumentation, while the GT, tS, and Series.Yellow models offer a 12.3-inch fully digital display for the driver. Either way, you get to read the pulse of your sports compact sedan as it goes through its paces. The flat-bottom steering wheel just might raise your pulse.  

GT, tS, and Series.Yellow trims also get Recaro front seats that form with you and keep you engaged and supported up front, while standard dual-zone climate control allows drivers and passengers to dial in their ideal temperature.  No matter which trim you choose, the 2026 WRX delivers comfort and support anywhere you go.  

In a recent review by the TopSpeed website, the 2026 WRX is an example of an affordable, all-traction, sports compact sedan that can handle anything in its wake. That includes the storms, freak winters, and hot days we experience here in the Metroplex. They conclude that “the Subaru WRX represents something that’s becoming harder to find. Balance.
