What’s New for the 2023 Subaru Ascent?

When the three-row Subaru Ascent SUV first hit the market a few years back, it was an immediate home run. And when it comes to a vehicle so universally loved, it’s important not to mess with the winning formula too much.

Of course, from year to year, Subaru has ensured that the Ascent remains up-to-date with all the latest and greatest technologies and amenities available, and the 2023 model year is no different. There will be no major changes to the Ascent for this year, which is actually a good thing. But, Subaru has announced a few upgrades that we think will make the Ascent even more desirable for 2023.

New 2023 Ascent Features

One of the most noteworthy changes to the Ascent for 2023 is a refreshed design. Subaru hasn’t made any drastic changes, but the front end has been redesigned a bit to give it a more aggressive appearance, while the rear LED taillights feature a new C-shaped design.

As for features, one of the most exciting additions to the Ascent is the new Surround View Camera. This new camera system gives you a 360 degree view of everything around the vehicle. It does this using four vehicle cameras, one mounted on each side and then combining the picture between the four into one. This feature is great for parking in tight spots or hooking up a trailer. The rear camera even features a washer for this year.

We are also excited about the new Cabin Connect system. If you’ve driven a larger SUV before, you may have noticed that it can be difficult to communicate with kids in the third row seats. To solve this issue, Subaru equipped the Ascent with Cabin Connect, which uses an available speaker system to project sound from the front seats into the very rear seats.

New Onyx Trim for 2023 Ascent

Subaru is also adding even more equipment to the Onyx trim level for this year. This particular Ascent model adds black design elements for a more stylish look, along with water-repellant material for the seats with new green stitching. The bigger change, however, is a new options package that adds a navigation system with a premium surround sound speaker system.
