​​What’s New for the 2027 Subaru Ascent?​ 

The award-winning Subaru Ascent returns for 2027 with just a few changes to its already successful formula. It remains Subaru’s signature three-row SUV, providing active families a safe, comfortable, and versatile SUV that is just right for life here in the Metroplex.

For 2027, the Ascent is offered in Premium, Limited, Limited Bronze Edition, Touring, and Onyx Edition Touring trim levels. Regardless of the trim selected, the Ascent is powered by a standard 260-horsepower, 2.4-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine with 277 pound-feet of torque. That potent engine is paired with a Lineartronic CVT and standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The Ascent is also equipped with X-MODE, Hill Descent Control, and a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.  

New for 2027 is the Deepwater Blue Metallic exterior paint color, which is exclusive to the Ascent. Inside, Ascent adds a new interior light-off switch, which quickly keeps the dome lights from illuminating when doors are opened, if so desired. A set of USB Type-C charging ports are added alongside USB Type-A charging points throughout the cabin, including near the third-row seats. 

All 2027 Ascent trim levels are equipped with the EyeSight Driver Assist technology. A few refinements have been added to this system for 2027, including a Wide-Angle Mono Camera and Emergency Stop Assist. Because of the overall effectiveness of these technologies, the Ascent is a 2026 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award winner from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. 

Every 2027 Ascent is packed full of features that deliver a comfortable experience for everyone on board. Premium models offer seating for up to eight passengers, who in turn have access to up to 19 cupholders. There’s plenty of cargo space available inside – easily accessible with the available Power Rear Gate that doesn’t require the use of any hands to operate – while raised roof rails help secure external cargo, too. 

Every 2027 Ascent is equipped with the 11.6-inch Subaru Multimedia Plus infotainment system. It also includes wireless smartphone integration through both Apple and Android devices, along with Bluetooth connectivity and SiriusXM 360L. All passengers enjoy StarTex upholstery that is soft to the touch. Front seat occupants also get heated seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. The standard climate control is automatic covering three zones, including the rear seating areas.  

The list of standard features on the Premium trim level is comprehensive. It also comes with an attractive base MSRP of $42,245*. Predictably, higher Ascent trim levels offere even more available content, including a Harman Kardon premium audio system, a Smart Rear View Mirror, larger wheels, ventilated front seats, and so forth.
