Subaru Announces Very Brightly Colored BRZ and WRX Limited-Edition Trims

Yellow is arguably the brightest color in the entire spectrum and can look even more vibrant on car exteriors. As a result, you rarely see midsize sedans or crossovers painted in bright yellow. In fact, aside from taxicabs, bright yellow is typically reserved for attention-grabbing vehicles, such as sports cars and supercars. With that in mind, Ewing Subaru of Plano is excited to announce that its extensive inventory lot may soon feature two 2026 special edition versions of Subaru’s sportiest models in a vibrant Sunrise Yellow.

At the 2025 Boxerfest on September 14, Subaru announced plans to offer limited-production versions of the WRX and BRZ, each featuring an exclusive yellow exterior paired with a matching interior. The yellow exterior is a Subaru hallmark and has been used previously on the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition, as well as the Subaru BRZ STI Sport and Subaru WRX STI S207 models, which were only available in Japan. To match the Sunrise Yellow exteriors, both models will have yellow high-contrast stitching throughout the upholstery, instrument panel, and door panels.
The 2026 Subaru WRX Series.Yellow is based on the tS trim, featuring a 271-horsepower 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine and an all-wheel drive system that’s ideal for keeping the car planted in various conditions. Drivers control the model’s power with a 6-speed manual transmission. Their confidence will be boosted by electronically controlled adjustable dampers tuned by Subaru Tecnica International, and high-performance Brembo® brakes behind stylish 19-inch matte-finish alloy wheels wrapped in sticky Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. The interior is far from spartan, equipped with an 11.6-inch multimedia system and a 12.3-inch full digital gauge cluster to keep the driver fully informed. The front seats are designed for comfort, control, and stability in tight turns, featuring Recaro Performance Design with yellow contrast stitching and accents in the perforations that add a sporty touch.

The 2026 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow is based on that model line’s tS trim as well. As with all BRZ models, it is powered by a lively 2.4-liter, 228-horsepower naturally aspirated SUBARU horizontally opposed (BOXER®) engine, which is paired with a sharp 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels, making it Subaru’s only non-AWD model. The BRZ Series.Yellow features STI-tuned front and rear Hitachi® dampers for excellent control and stability, along with high-performance Brembo® brakes. These brakes are visible behind stylish 18-inch matte black wheels, fitted with high-performing Michelin Pilot® Sport 4 tires. This setup provides impressive grip and immediate turn-in, making the car feel like an extension of yourself at all times.

The 2+2 cabin features black upholstery accented by exclusive yellow stitching on the front seats, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shifter boot, and parking brake boot.
Subaru plans to produce a limited run of 350 units for each model. Pricing will be announced closer to the model’s availability date, which is expected to be later in the 2026 model year. Be sure to inform one of the Ewing Subaru of Plano sales professionals of your interest in either of the Series.Yellow models, and they will provide you with additional information and assist you in placing a special order to ensure you get yours before they are all spoken for.
