You might recall back in December we touched on the 15th-annual Subaru Share the Love Event. To refresh your memory, Share the Love is a charitable event each year in which Subaru donates $250 to one of a few select charities for each vehicle purchased during the event. Ahead of this monumental 15th year of the event, Subaru made a plan to surpass $250 million dollars in donations. Now that the 2022 event is over, you might be wondering how exactly things went? Well, final donation results are expected to be released in March, but Subaru has made one announcement… they passed their goal of reaching $250,000,000 in total donations since the inaugural event back in 2008!

Who received the money?

This is incredible news of which we’re absolutely thrilled to have been just one small part. For the 2022 event, shoppers were able to choose between The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the Make-A-Wish foundation, Meals on Wheels America or the National Park Foundation. All four of these incredible organizations are deserving of donations, and considering the tally was around $227 million heading into last year’s event, that means at least $23 million was doled out between these four!

While exact Share the Love Event donation results have yet to be finalized and released, we do have sales information from the manufacturer for December 22, which is when the event takes place. The company sold 56,760 total vehicles, including more than 14,000 Outback models, 13,500 Forester models, and 13,000 Crosstrek models. There were even 825 units of the new Subaru Solterra sold.

Last year’s event might have just ended, but we’re already looking forward to this year’s holiday season and another go at the Subaru Share the Love event. Be sure to let us know if you have any local charities in mind for us to nominate for the 2023 event!
