What Is the Safest Subaru Vehicle?

Buying a vehicle is a big decision, so it makes sense to want only the very best (or at least as close as you can get to it without breaking the bank). It’s not easy to find a vehicle that is perfect in all areas… and actually, it’s rather impossible. But, if you do your research, you can find a vehicle that holds a top spot in some key areas.

One of those areas to consider is safety. After all, nothing is more important than being safe in your vehicle. Thankfully, that is an area where Subaru excels.

Subaru Top Safety Picks

Each year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducts safety tests to determine which vehicles stand out as truly safe vehicles and which simply don’t meet the standards. In doing these tests, the IIHS awards strong performers with the Top Safety Pick designation, while the very cream of the crop earns the Top Safety Pick+ designation.

So, how have Subaru models held up against these safety tests? Well, four Subaru models were given the Top Safety Pick+ award and another two earned the Top Safety Pick award.

The Top Safety Pick+ models are as follows:

  • Subaru Ascent (2023 MSRP starts at $33,895)
  • Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid (2023 MSRP starts at $36,845)
  • Subaru Legacy (2023 MSRP starts at $24,395)
  • Subaru Outback (2023 MSRP starts at $28,395)

The Top Safety Pick models are as follows:

  • Subaru Crosstrek (2023 MSRP starts at $23,645)
  • Subaru Impreza (2023 MSRP starts at $19,795)

Even more impressive is the fact that all of these models have earned a Top Safety Pick award for multiple consecutive years: 17 years for the Legacy, 15 years for the Impreza, 14 years for the Outback, 11 years for the Crosstrek, 5 years for the Ascent and 4 years for the Crosstrek Hybrid. These ratings are thanks in part to superior performances in the front crash prevention test, helped by Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.

When it comes to safety, there is no need to take our word for it at Ewing Subaru of Plano. The results speak for themselves. To get behind the wheel of any of these models, contact us here at the dealership.
