2025 Forester Hybrid is Worth the Wait
With a new exterior, interior, updated technology, class-leading ground clearance, and a great model and brand reputation, the redesigned Subaru Forester had almost everything anyone could want in a compact crossover. Just about. Those interested in the high fuel efficiency and, thus, lower emissions of a hybrid model could not get it in a Forester until now. As Ewing Subaru of Plano explains, the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is worth the wait.
The next-generation Subaru series-parallel hybrid system retains the Forester’s 2.5-liter boxer 4-cylinder engine but revises it with Atkinson/Miller cycle valve timing. It pairs this with an electric motor generator and electric traction motor, which get their juice from a high-capacity, sealed lithium-ion battery. This is connected to Subaru’s continuously variable transmission and mechanically drives all four wheels with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system for the sure-footedness and traction optimization that the Forester has long been known for.
The Forester Hybrid delivers 194 total system horsepower. While the EPA has no official figures yet, the hybrid is expected to improve its fuel efficiency by 40% in the city and 25% on the highway. That translates to approximately 36 mpg in the city and 41 on the highway.
In addition to the 11.6-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, all Forester hybrids will include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with navigation and Apple Maps display ability. As on all Foresters, the latest version of the Subaru EyeSight ® suite of safety and driver assistance technologies will be standard. A new system included in the suite is Emergency Stop Assist, which monitors if the driver is responsive to warnings from the Advanced Adaptive Cruise control and, if not, will bring the vehicle to a stop, activate the hazard lights, automatically unlock the doors, and then place a call to emergency services.
The Forester Hybrid will be available in an exclusive new exterior color, Daybreak Blue Pearl, and that plus certain other exterior colors will be available with a contrasting Crystal Black Silica roof.
The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is available in Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring trim levels with the following Manufacturer Retail Pricing, including the Destination / Delivery charge:
