DO NOT BUY FROM EWING SUBARU OF PLANO — ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN OUT-OF-STATE BUYER. I recently purchased a 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe from Ewing Subaru of Plano for approximately $55,000. Because I live in California, I had no opportunity to inspect the vehicle in person before purchase and had to rely entirely on the dealership’s representations regarding the vehicle’s condition. That turned out to be a huge mistake. Immediately after receiving the car, I noticed severe brake screeching every single time the vehicle slowed down. I took the car to Land Rover Redwood City for a professional inspection, where multiple serious issues were identified: All four rotors are below acceptable standard Brakes are heavily worn Driver-side window control button is loose, malfunctioning, and comes off Seat extension button malfunctions Blind spot monitoring system malfunctions None of these issues were disclosed before the sale. After I contacted the dealership, Matt Marshall instructed me to pay out of pocket for a professional inspection and stated that if the inspection confirmed the vehicle was below standard, they would “remedy” the situation. However, once I sent over the inspection report, the response completely changed. Instead of addressing the documented problems, Matt repeatedly focused ONLY on the brake pad reading being at a “5” while completely ignoring the rotor measurements documented during the inspection: Front rotors: 31mm Rear rotors: 22mm I repeatedly asked why the rotor measurements were being ignored and requested a copy of the dealership’s pre-sale inspection report. After asking FOUR separate times, they finally sent me a report — except it conveniently did not even include brake or rotor measurements. When I continued pressing the issue and asking why the documented rotor measurements were being disregarded, Matt Marshall eventually hung up the phone on me. I also obtained an estimate from Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek showing that OEM replacement parts alone total approximately $7,766 BEFORE labor. At this point, the issue is not just the condition of the car — it is the complete lack of accountability after the sale. The dealership had no problem taking money from an out-of-state buyer, but once serious undisclosed issues were brought to their attention, communication became dismissive and unprofessional. My father co-signed for me, both of us have already taken credit inquiries and financing impacts, and I have already prepaid 6 months of insurance on the car. I simply want the dealership to honor what was promised and remedy the undisclosed issues with the vehicle they sold me. Had these problems been disclosed upfront, I would have negotiated repairs, adjusted pricing, or reconsidered the purchase entirely. If this is how Ewing Subaru of Plano chooses to conduct business, then other buyers deserve to know exactly what they are getting into before spending tens of thousands of dollars there. I have inspection reports, estimates, documentation, and records of communication attempts to support everything stated in this review. Angel was my salesperson, and he seems to be the only decent person there. He was the only person actually being responsive after the sale to try to help me resolve the issue, but management is very unprofessional, especially frank and Matt. They go back on their words, and hang up the phone on their customers.

After selling me a car that I couldn’t even drive off of the lot in because it wouldn’t start and then not being willing to fix it after I voiced concern I was told personally by Matthew Marshall that he upgraded my coverage on my warranty to pinnacle coverage. They didn’t want to fix my car. They didn’t want me to service my car there they wanted me to go somewhere else so they upgraded my warranty so that way I could, but then whenever I went to use my warranty oh, it was voided on “accident” so I call the finance manager Conner Ellison who told me that he sent an urgent request up to the top to figure out what happened there last I heard back was January 28 and nobody’s answering me. But still pulling my credit 5 times and not disclosing the terms. What a joke man. Plus, I still have the messages from his salesman texting me of his personal cell phone how he wanted to do so much more to me whenever he saw me there with “my girls out”, LOL but he wanted to “remain professional”. What a creep like that is literally disgusting. He’s got a wife and kids on his desk. His name is Reggie Howard. I mean you think if he “actually liked” me he wouldn’t have sold me a car that wouldn’t start. Lol lol.

There’s really nothing special or different about this place. They’re just like every other dealership. From the busted xxx cars that don’t even start when you come to a scheduled appointment you had to literally test DRIVE the car. To the sleazy salesman with photos of his wife and kids on his desk texting you off his personal phone looking to fulfill his fantasies of “being with a white woman” LOL embarrassing.. and uncalled for really. License plates took too long to arrive to where I wasn’t able to transfer my old custom plates to my new car. When they did arrive not one man in that building offered or even asked if I wanted them to install the plates for me (which trust me I didn’t) but it’s the principal. Ewing Subaru wants to talk so highly of their service when in reality this is the type of practices they have going on in there. And the fact the salesman told me that the boss wasn’t trying to help me cause he thought my paystubs were fake but that he talked him into it and that was glad himself they were able to verify they were real. Umm thanks Reggie? I guess? Lol. The CIA wouldn’t have gotten that admission out of me. Probably should have kept that to yourself.

Agreed to purchase a car and didn’t even haggle on the price. After agreeing, I received my paperwork and I was in the process of filling out deposit information with credit card data. In the process of filling it out, within 30 mins they claimed someone walked in and bought the car. An absolute joke of an experience and now they have all my personal and business information. Asked to speak to a manager and guy wouldn’t even call to discuss without me begging. Already had a trash experience with eCarOne and thought this was a legit and safer place, apparently not.

Angel Calix went above and beyond in helping us purchase a 2017 Toyota Corolla XSE/35K miles. He worked with management to ensure the sale was within our budget. When we drove up, our "new" car was detailed and ready for pickup. Justin Trplosh was extraordinarily kind and followed through with a phone call inquiry from us. Oscar Franco walked us through the initial closing and was patient when we had to garner our proof of insurance, which took some time. Finance (Connor McCown) was patient and explained the forms as we finalized the sale. Although we paid in full for a used car, all the employees treated us like we were the most significant purchase of the day. We felt welcomed and valued, and God blessed us with this quality vehicle at a tremendously reasonable price.

While there's always room for improvement with just about everyone, i't important to know and see that the company cares enough to try and rectify any problems. My car buying experience at Ewing Subaru of Plano was probably the smoothest car buying experience that I've ever had. The new car sale manager Frank Alsides went out of his way to make sure that I got the best deal on a Crosstrek Limited. He would not be under sold. Thanks Frank. And my salesman Ross Iver made it very easy to choose my car. He went above and beyond to make sure that my experience was a positive one. I highly recommend him if you ever find yourself wanting a new Subaru. He is not "high pressure" salesman, he listens. I want to that Cade Simpson, Joseph Vachon, and David Sullivan for all of their participation in seeing that I was happy and satisfied. I love my Subaru Crosstrek Limited.
