Subaru Solterra Receives Requested Updates and Lower Price For 2025
Any car shopper wants to get more content and pay less money. That is exactly what they will find when they visit Ewing Subaru of Plano to shop for the Subaru Solterra EV. Here are the details.
In the previous model year, 2024, the Solterra received numerous improvements, including cutting the DC fast charge time almost in half. Charging from 10% to 80% on a DC fast charger currently takes about 35 minutes, down from nearly an hour for the 2023 model. This is primarily due to enhanced battery conditioning, which also allows for faster charging at below-freezing temperatures.
The 2024 model also came with new driver assistance features. One enables hands-free driving at up to 25 mph with automatic lane changing, which can be very welcome in stop-and-go traffic. Front cross-traffic warning also became standard. Meanwhile, the range held at 227 miles, and that is with all-wheel drive, which is standard in Subaru models.
New for 2025, the Subaru Solterra adds a Touring Onyx Edition trim level, which is equipped with 20-inch aluminum-alloy gloss black wheels, black exterior, and interior trim, including black badging.
The big news for 2025, however, is pricing. The starting MSRP for the Solterra Premium is $38,495, which is a full $6,500 less than the identically equipped 2024 model. That does not include the full $7,500 tax credit available to most consumers, bringing the possible entry price to just under $31K. Standard features for this model include:
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, 5 USB charge points, and much more.
The lower pricing is not just for the entry-level model. The Solterra Limited has also seen a price reduction of $6,500, with a starting MSRP of $41,995. Additional key features of the Limited include 10-way adjustable driver and 8-way adjustable front passenger seats, heated rear seats, a power rear tailgate, a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, and a 576-watt equivalent Harman Kardon audio system.
The Touring model gets the most significant price reduction, $7,000, below last year’s model, which has an MSRP of $44,995. The Touring adds a panoramic glass moonroof, front and rear LED footwell lighting, ventilated front seats, a digital rearview mirror with view position adjustment, and plenty more. The Touring Onyx Edition has a starting MSRP of $45,495.
The fact is, EVs fit the transportation needs of far more people than most realize, particularly if they can charge at home and return smooth, efficient, emission-free operation with a nearly maintenance-free drivetrain.
It all means there has never been a better time to visit Ewing Subaru of Plano and check out the useful, well-equipped, practical, and now less expensive Subaru Solterra.
