Secret Subaru Pin Code Access
How many times have you misplaced your car keys and walked around frantically trying to find them? Even worse, maybe you have something in your car you forgot to get out earlier, like groceries, and you locked your car and can’t find your keys. Well, Subaru has you covered with Subaru PIN Code Access, allowing you to unlock your car via a button on the rear hatch lid.

Reasons Why Subaru PIN Code Access Is Useful
The Subaru PIN Code Access is perfect for when you are going to the beach or maybe hiking and don’t want to carry your keys for fear of losing them. Well, just leave the keys safely inside your car and use the PIN Code to unlock your car to get back in.
But how exactly do you set up your PIN Code? Let’s review the instructions for your new or used Subaru models.
Step 1
Start by going to the rear of your vehicle and locating the button pad above the license plate on the rear hatch door or trunk lid. Now, press the lock button on your key fob, then hold the lock button along with the pad on the hatch or trunk until the car beeps. When you are ready to enter your code on the pad, hit the unlock button on the fob.

Setting Your PIN
To better understand the PIN Code Access feature, you need to understand that the types of presses you do on the pad are your code. So, for instance, let’s say you want your access code to be 1, 3, 1, 2, 1. You’ll press the pad once until the car beeps, then tap it three times in quick succession and let the car beep, once, wait for the beep, then twice, wait for the beep, and then once more and wait for the beep. Then, do that sequence one more time in that same order, then press the unlock button on the fob to lock in the code.

How To Leave Your Key in The Car Without It Getting Stolen
In order to be able to leave your key in the car and lock it, you will need to sit in the driver’s seat with the door open. Start by manually locking the driver door via the latch. Then hold the lock and trunk button together for seven seconds until the car makes a long beep. This allows the fob to still lock and unlock the car, but it will not start the car. So even if someone were to break into your car and find your keys sitting there, they wouldn’t be able to start the car.
Reinitializing Your Key Fob
When you are ready to drive away once you get back in your car, you’ll first have to reengage your key fob to be able to start the vehicle. Manually lock the door again and then hold the trunk and lock buttons for seven seconds until you hear a shorter beep.
And that’s as simple as it gets.
