Subaru Partners With The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society For Ninth Year
Subaru is one of the most charitable and caring car manufacturers. As one of the safest and most socially conscious car brands in the world, Subaru believes in giving back, as evidenced by its annual Share the Love event. This event has raised nearly $300 million since starting the charity drive event 17 years ago.
Subaru Loves To Care
Sadly, cancer is one of the most common diseases. Nearly every American will know someone who has been affected by cancer or is affected by the disease themselves. It is a very personal disease and struggle for billions of people around the world. Leukemia and Lymphoma are both treatable blood cancers that, when detected early, can have a high survivability rate for some patients. However, it is an important set of cancers that need to be researched extensively to better understand how to treat them effectively and make sure as many people survive these prognoses as possible. This is why Subaru participates in Subaru Loves to Care month in June of each year to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or LLS.
A Message From Subaru
“During Subaru Loves to Care month, we take to heart the difference that a personalized show of support can make for those facing cancer. We are grateful to continue our partnership with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, working with our retailers to provide warmth, love, and relief to so many courageous patients,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, Inc.
Every Donation Helps Someone In Need
As the largest automotive donor to LLS, Subaru takes pride in the fact that the company has helped around 350,000 cancer patients in America through charitable funding, blanket donations, and messages of hope. Over 400 Subaru dealers will also be contributing special cancer care kits along with blanket deliveries to patients.
A Message from The LLS
When asked about the significance of the significance of the partnership with Subaru, E. Anders Kolb, M.D., President and CEO of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society said, “As a pediatric hematologist oncologist, I’ve seen firsthand the joy that unexpected gifts bring to cancer patients, especially kids going through treatment. We are so grateful to our long-standing partner Subaru and its retailers for their generous contributions and blanket deliveries, and for recognizing patients’ experiences in a meaningful way that lifts their spirits and reminds them they are not alone.”
Financial Assistance
Dealers will also be donating to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Urgent Need Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Fund, which helps families in need of financial assistance with various non-medical expenses to keep them afloat during their struggle. This assistance includes transportation, groceries, and household utilities.
